Heat It Correctly
Set the warmer to the temp recommended for your wax type (most warmers have a dial). Let wax fully melt, usually 15 to 30 minutes. Stir once to even out the texture. It should be honey-thick, not water-thin and not paste.
Always Test the Temp
Even the best warmer can run a hair too hot. Test on your inner wrist before applying anywhere else.
Exfoliate the Day Before, Not the Day Of
Light exfoliation 24 hours before waxing lifts dead skin and lets wax grip the actual hair. Don't exfoliate the same day, too much irritation stacked together.
Apply With the Hair
Spread wax in the direction hair grows. Pull the strip (or hard wax patty) fast, low, and against the grain. Slow pulls hurt more and break hairs.

The wax type sets the temperature, not the body part. Each formula has a working range where it spreads like thick honey and grips hair instead of skin:
